The old criminal adage of “leave no witnesses” was not adhered to during this night of fun-filled illegal activity in Central Park. There were plenty of witnesses to discuss what they had seen or heard before, during, and after the assaults, beatings, and even after the rape.

The most well-known of the witnesses were the Central Park 5 themselves. They were all willing to give one another up for the possibility of not doing any time. They did hours of talking and even told the police where their accomplices lived.

If the five weren’t enough, there were about 30 other young men who went into the park with the five that night. They, too, were called in after the first few boys were hauled in and were willing to spill their guts about who was there.

Beyond that, there were many others, all of whom had some pretty damning evidence to share.
